Mortgage Panels

When buying with the assistance of mortgage finance, it is usual for the solicitor who acts in the purchase to be instructed by the lender to act for them at the same time.

For this to take place the solicitor acting for the buyer will need to be accepted on the mortgage lender’s solicitor’s panel.

Barbara Jacobs & Co has been accepted on the mortage panel of most high street lenders, with the exception of those lenders who will not allow sole practicioner practices access to their panel. At the present time, therefore, we are not on the panel for:

  • Barclays Woolwich
  • The Cooperative Bank
  • The Skipton Building Society
  • The Leeds Building Society
  • The Bank of Ireland
  • The Post Office

Please be aware that if you choose to place their mortage lending with one of these institutions then at the present time we are not able to act for you.

Whilst this firm is able to act for buyers who borrow from the HSBC Bank Plc, there are monetary limits on the value of the mortgage advance, which may mean that this firm will have to work with HSBC Bank appointed lawyers.
